POWIS CASTLE WALK
Thursday 11th September
Join us for our annual visit to Powis Castle and enjoy an easy walk on this historical trail which takes us along the world-famous Italianate terraces, around the formal garden and then down along the canal, through the town and back up to the castle – about 4 miles (or just do the gardens if you prefer a shorter walk).
Make your own way there and car share if you can. We meet in the car park at 10 am and then have a coffee in the Courtyard café with spectacular views across the Severn Valley, plus peacocks for company if we are lucky.
There are a variety of lunch options – bring a picnic, the castle café or in Welshpool. In the afternoon members are free to visit the castle using our National Trust Well-being Pass.
There is no charge for this away day, just let us know if you are coming so we can give Powis an idea of numbers. The list starts at Erddig on Saturday or let a leader know on any of the week day walks.
