POWIS CASTLE WALK
THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST
We all love our yearly visit to Powis, an easy 4 mile walk through the world-famous gardens, which will be at their peak at this time of year. The route takes us around the Italianate terraces, then down along the canal, and finally through the town to get back up to the castle.
We meet before the walk for a coffee in the courtyard with spectacular views across the Severn Valley, plus peacocks for company if we are lucky.
There are a variety of lunch options – bring a picnic, the castle café or in Welshpool.
In the afternoon members are free to visit this unique medieval castle with its historic collection using our National Trust Well-being Pass.
•Make your own way there and car share if you can.
•Meet in the car park at Powis at 10 am.
•There is no charge for this event, just let us know if you are coming so we can give Powis an idea of numbers.
